THE BODY, UNFOLDING
There are shoots where the light does the work, others where the mood carries everything… and then there are days like this, where the body itself becomes the whole show.
I remember standing there, watching him warm up……no clothes, no character to play, nothing to hide behind. Just skin, breath, and that instinctive awareness that comes when you strip down and your body suddenly feels louder. You notice every stretch, every shift, every small click of the joints waking up.
What surprised me wasn’t the nudity. It was the kindness of it. The way the body softens when it doesn’t have to perform. How gentle and flexible we become when there’s nothing constricting us, physically or mentally. His limbs moved like they were remembering something old, something natural. He folded in half, balanced upside-down, twisted, extended… not to show off, but because it felt good. Because it felt true.
From behind the camera, I wasn’t just photographing poses.
I was watching a whole person unfold in real time.
